the five-gallon tip jar and counter wallpapered with clippings make morning star feel like a comfy student union--only the food is good. sandwiches ($4-$7) combine breads from great harvest with sharp cheeses and crunchy peppers and lettuce.  each lunch comes packaged with a couple of orange slices and a pile of potato chips, giving your meal a disarming, made-by-mom feel (even though it was really made by a skate punk in a ringer t-shirt).
